A “Marine Legion” suggested

Thomas E. Ricks, writing for FOREIGN POLICY, advances the suggestion made in the Dec. 2017 issue of the Marine Corps Gazette that U.S. Marines form a “‘Marine Legion,’ relying on a combination of foreign recruits and senior Marine NCOs.”

Interesting idea to be sure. Ricks calls it, “Nervy.”

The Gazette piece says, “All personnel above the rank of sergeant would be American Marines, all others (including sergeants) would be non-U.S. citizens recruited to address the unique requirements of each geographic combatant command.”
