All treats, no tricks at Sheriff’s annual Halloween Bash

By W. Thomas Smith Jr.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott and approximately 150-175 deputies and employees of the Richland County Sheriff’s Dept. (RCSD) celebrated Halloween with a barbeque lunch, lots of sweets, cookies, cakes, pastries, other treats and no tricks at the RCSD Training Center – Denny Terrace, Oct. 31.

“We do this every year,” said Sheriff Lott. “We host numerous other parties for employees and our families and parties and festivals for our communities throughout the year, but this one is for deputies, other officers and employees. We get to relax for an hour or so, enjoy a great meal, listen to music, dress up if we want to and have fun with one another.”

Barbecue – a whole wild hog – was prepared by DK OUTFITTERS (aka Deputy Danny Kirkland and Sgt. Larry Croft in RCSD’s Training Div.).

Sheriff Lott began RCSD’s tradition of an annual Halloween Party in 1997.
